How to keep selling when the internet drops
A till that stops when the connection stops costs you sales. The Vendora Android app carries on, and sends everything when it can.
What keeps working
With no connection you can still ring up sales. Sales, shifts, clock-ins and new customers are saved on the phone, and sent to the server when the connection returns. You don't have to do anything.
Seeing what is waiting
Open Sync in the app to see what hasn't been sent yet. After a long time offline, you'll see sales waiting there. Connect, open Sync, and watch them clear.
What needs a connection
Some things have to ask the server first, so they won't work offline. Price lists are one. The server works out those prices, so on a phone with no connection, sales use normal prices.
Before you sign out
If anything hasn't been sent, Vendora warns you before you sign out. Signing out with unsent sales could lose them. Connect first, let Sync finish, then sign out.
Why offline sales are still accepted
A sale made offline is accepted when it syncs, because the money has already changed hands. It's recorded on its shift with the payment method used, so your reports stay right.
Paper receipts and power cuts
If you sold on paper, go to Orders, then Manual receipt, afterwards. Enter the number on the paper receipt, when you sold it and the products. The stock comes off. The money isn't added to any shift or drawer, because you took it at the time.
Before you open the shop
- Charge the phone, and keep a charger at the till.
- Open the app while you're connected, so it's up to date.
- Open the shift before the connection drops.
- After a bad patch, open Sync and check nothing is left waiting.
